I'm happy to introduce you to a really cool UK-based brand that makes the best things for us vegan fitties - plant-based protein powders, protein bars and raw bars! For vegans it's hard to get enough protein which usually comes from animal products, so this is a perfect subsitute for them. And they taste good too!
Pulsin raw vegan protein powders
Let's start with the protein powders so you get an overview what they and the protein bars are made of. Protein helps balance out the sugar levels in blood helping provide sustained energy throughout the day. What’s more it also helps support a weight-loss diet as it staves off hunger pangs and helps the body burn fat. And of course protein builds muscles!
Pulsin has protein powders made of pea, (brown) rice, soy and hemp. Pea and hemp are my favourites as they are grown in Europe and not shipped from afar. All the powders taste a bit like flour - but mixed in a smoothie, banana ice cream or even in your cocoa you won't mind it at all! The rice protein consists of 80% protein. Hemp has "only" 47% but hemp itself is a wonder plant, containing all eight of the essential amino acids the body needs to stay healthy, as well as generous amounts of Omega 3 & 6 and plant fibre. Pulsin's vegan pea protein powder is made from yellow split peas. It's low in carbs and fat as well as being a great source of essential amino acid - and it consists of 80% protein! But soy is the winner with 90% of protein and Pulsin's non-GM soya protein powder is low carb, low in saturated fat and dairy free, making it a great nutritional supplement for anyone looking to balance their diet and increase their protein intake naturally. Soya protein is considered a complete protein, providing all of the essential amino acids that the body can't make itself. It's also proven to help in lowering cholesterol.
Too much information? Never mind. Just get yourself some protein powders, add them to a banana cacao smoothie and get strong and fit!

Pulsin Protein Bars
Low in fat, low GI and high in protein, these protein bars make the ideal pre- or post-exercise boost or handy, healthy meal-replacement for people on the go - I always have one in my workout bag so I can snack on something healthy protein-rich in case I get hungry during or after training! They give me are reeaaaal boost and are so filling it's incredible! And they don't only contain protein but also superfoods like maca and goji berries. And the raw choc brownies are amazing too! I only think these are a tiny bit too firm and have the flourish texture that the protein powder has too, but I don't mind, as these are so good for me. And they work very well on top of pancakes and banana ice creams too! Here you find the direct links to the different flavours: Rasperry and Goji, Vanilla Choc Chip, Orange Choc Chip, Maple and Peanut Butter, Almond and Raisin.
Beond Raw Bars
The Beond bars are named after Beo, an anciend God of agriculture, because the bars are made from organic ingredients using traditional farming methods to show their importance in a sustaining balanced ecosystem - an because they're be(y)ond yummy of course! Cool story right? And these might be my favourite products from Pulsin and Beond because they just are so yummy. These raw snack bars are made of all kinds of super delicious and healthy fruit combinations together with cashews and dates. Oh and superfoods such as baobab and acai! Yet, no sugar, no dairy, no gluten, no soy, no nasties, and all raw and vegan and so yummy they make the perfect treat for the go. I always carry snack bars around with me so I won't get so hungry I'll binge when I get back home. The blueberry bar is definitely my favourite (though I haven't tried the apple and cinnamon one yet). These too you can top on your porridge or banana ice cream if you like but they're perfect for the go too. Here's a link to where you can buy them! Oh and btw! One beond bar counts as one of you 5 fruit a day!
