1/4 cup malt (grounded)
3/4 cup pitted dates, cut into squares
1 1/2 cup boiling hot water
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp molasses (optional, can be left out if you don't consume sugar)
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp dry yeast or 10g yeast
Put malt and dates together and pour the boiling water over them. Let them swell for 20-30 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients, knead them well until you have a soft dough ball. Put it in the preheated oven (200°C) for 20-30 minutes and enjoy - it's really good served warm!
(Hint: When it cooles down put it in a plastic bag so it stays as soft as it is!)
